A Filipino Thanksgiving

Nov 28, 2013

It was a chilly morning, my step dad was making some Filipino dishes to serve the guests who will be arriving late afternoon. He cooked Menudo, which is a Filipino dish made with tomato sauce, pork, and carrots. And giniling baboy, which is basically ground pork with raisins and potatoes :) I didn't took a picture of it because it was gone so fast!!
In every Thanksgiving we host the party. So what is Thanksgiving without turkey and ham right??

Ham was baked with liquefied brown sugar and pineapple juice then topped with pineapple chunks. It was the BOMB!!
This years turkey was deep fried. My step sister made sure that it was going to be really good. She stuffed it with baked potatoes and carrots and put an apple for a "lechon" effect.
There other food such as Lumpiang sariwa ( fresh lumpia) but i didn't bother to take a picture of it because it was tempting enough. LOL
I on the other hand, made desserts! I made a flan which called leche flan which is basically egg yolks with condensed milk and brown sugar and steamed. And a dessert I've never made before called bibingkinitan, It's similar to a cupcake but sticky because it's made of glutinous rice, coconut shreds and some vanilla flavoring. I just baked it for half an hour.

Leche Flan
 Bibingkinitan

The last but not list dessert is the sweet potato pie which my younger step sister made. It was so so so good!! She made it by scratch. I think we have a baker in the family :)

Sweet potato pie with melted marshmallows

So that is my Thanksgiving! Of course my family finish the food. We had fun being together and so thankful to have each other. Hopefully Christmas wouldn't be as chaotic....

Tongyang Shabu-Shabu and Barbecue Restaurant

Yummy and affordable breakfast at Marina Oyster Seafood Grill.

As we look for a place to eat the most important meal of the day, one of my friends suggested this place. Well he didn't mention the name because he forgot about it already,  buti pa si manong guard alam yung name nung place. ^_^

We took advantage of their breakfast buffet for P169.00 only. We find this very affordable compare to other breakfast packages. And this is the cheapest buffet resto na napuntahan namin so far.

Pancakes!
This is the first thing that i grabbed from the buffet table, it tastes like a regular pancake nothing special, but i love the taste of their syrup it doesn't taste like maple syrup it tastes like vanilla extract, the one that they used for sago't gulaman the type of sago't gulaman na you could buy from the street.

Happiness on a plate!
They have about 10-12 types of food that you could choose from plus coffee or juice. (chicken adobo, danggit, longganisa, fish lumpia, scrambled eggs, champorado, fried chicken, etc.)

Yummy champorado :)
My friends gave marina's champorado two thumbs up for its creamy taste with or without the milk. naka dalawang balik sila dyan hahaha!

They are located at SM Sky Garden, North Edsa.

Zark's deadly burger!

Yup, It'll definitely break your jaw. This mouth watering burger is about 5 inches tall, 4 inches wide and weighs about 1.5 pounds.

I'm gonna take you all in. ^_^
If you will just look at the burger, it definitely looks delicious, but to be honest it's not the burger you cannot live without, and its kinda raw on the inside. Well I guess some likes that, but I don't. I also tried the Mushroom Dawg, It taste like, like.... mushroom, as in just the plain button mushroom, and they tastes like cardboard!

I forgot what this is.. But I think it's the Zark's Ultimate Burgaahh! 1/4 pound burger with cheese sauce ,topped with sauteed mushroom and bacon.

Ready? Set.... EAT!

They enjoyed the burger, maybe you will too! Visti their website at www.zarksburgers.com/ for their menu and branch location.
